Why FOV Matters in ACC

Hey racer, ever wonder why your braking feels off or corners look wrong? It’s often the FOV. Picture this: you’re approaching a hairpin, but everything seems stretched or zoomed. A proper FOV matches your real eyes to the virtual track, so cars beside you appear at true size and speed.

Too wide? You’ll brake early, feeling like you’re flying. Too narrow? You’ll miss apexes, blind to traffic. Get it right, and suddenly lap times drop as your instincts kick in naturally.

Quick Setup Steps

1. Sit in your normal racing position, eyes level with screen center.
2. Measure diagonal screen size and exact eye-to-screen distance.
3. Plug into calculator above – boom, your numbers appear.
4. Enter hFOV directly in ACC graphics settings. Test a lap, tweak max 5% if needed.

Triple Screen Angles

Got three monitors? Angle them so bezels vanish visually. Our calc gives exact degrees between screens. Example: 70cm distance on 27″ triples? Aim for 45-50° outer angles. Mount solid, no wobble.

hFOV vs vFOV

ACC uses hFOV (horizontal). Some sims want vFOV – don’t mix! Our results label clearly. Single 27″ at 60cm? Expect 45-55° hFOV typically.
