Your Estimated Costs

Next steps: Contact your supplier to request a free meter. Switch back within 2 years if needed (conditions apply in some areas).

How to Read Your Meter

  1. Locate your meter (outside or kitchen).
  2. Record black numbers only (ignore red or dials).
  3. Note m³ value for current, use previous bill for prior reading.
  4. Subtract for usage; multiply by tariff for cost.

Calculation Method

Metered cost = usage (m³) × tariff rate. Usage from readings or estimated: showers (35L each), baths (150L), flushes (9L), washing (55L), dishwasher (20L), taps (10L/min), etc. Baseline 142L/person/day adjusted by inputs. Unmetered based on rateable value × fixed multiplier (avg £429/year for £200 RV). Savings = unmetered – metered.
