Calculation Principles
BTU measures heat to raise 1lb water by 1°F. Room volume (length x width x height) multiplies by purpose factor (1.0-2.0), then windows (1.0-1.2), insulation (1.0-1.3), exposure (1.0-1.3). UK standard uses 55 BTU/cubic metre base, adjusted for Delta-T50 (flow 70°C, return 50°C, air 20°C). Converts to Watts (1 Watt ≈ 3.412 BTU/hr).
